In February 2020 we presented our project to the Rotary Club Bruxelles-Altitude who decided to support us financially by completing our ” pre-departure ” budget. During our departure party at the Belgian coast, the Rotary Club Nieuwpoort-Westhoek joined us as our new official partner. Throughout our journey, the Rotary Club Brussels-Altitude made use of its international contacts by enabling us to present our project to various Rotary Clubs during our stopovers. In October 2020, the Rotary Club Gent helped us to buy our new hydro-generator, allowing us to be completely self-sufficient in renewable energy. After our Atlantic crossing, the Rotary Club Fort-de-France Sud in Martinique offered us a new furling system for our front sail, which had given up after 26 years of loyal service. We can now sail safely and furl our front sail without stress if the wind suddenly increases violently. Thank you all for your enthusiasm and for believing in us from the very beginning!
Lecompte Alpinisme & Randonnée‘s main mission is to equip those who are passionate about adventure and the great outdoors. With respect for nature and the values of the sports they represent. They have decided to support us by offering quality equipment with environmentally friendly brands such as Patagonia and Fjall Raven. Thank you for allowing us to stay warm in our down jackets during our night shifts or to put on technical trousers that dry quickly when you get caught in a big wave!
A2D architecture 2 design is an architecture office located in Tervuren, Belgium. Aline had been working there since January 2019 and it had become like a big family to her. By sharing the progress of the project with them, from the purchase of the sailboat to the repairs before departure, they decided to support our project financially. The ecological objective of our project corresponds well to their desire to respect the environment in their architectural projects. Thank you for your support from start to finish, even on the pontoons on the day of departure!
After Aline worked for several months with their great team in Beloeil (Québec), Epigraphe . maison d’architecture proposed to accompany us for the second chapter of our expedition. Sensitive to the values of our project, they decided to support us financially to acquire our new radar and the safety equipment necessary for the northern route through Greenland and Iceland.
